One year ago. One year ago today the schools closed. One year ago today WE closed…. on the creek house.
One year ago we went to the attorney’s office and signed the closing documents for Cypress Sunrise just a hair before the courthouse closed. We snuck it in and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Suddenly we had all of this time on our hands as the world went into quarantine because of the Covid-19 virus. So we dove in to lots of projects that we didn’t think we would have time to do before listing the house as a short term rental. As Georgetown County was closing beaches and boat landings we were peeling wallpaper, painting cabinets and putiing on a new roof. As the state of South Carolina was limiting travel, normally a nightmare for the owner of a short term rental property, we were rebuilding a dock and laying new sod.
But we couldn’t have done it without our family and friends who also dove into our quarantine project. Our kids pitched in daily in between zoom lessons and even the dogs came to supervise! It worked to our advantage, allowing us to tackle projects while spending time with those we love the most.
Thank you to everyone who helped us with this huge project and thank you to all who have chosen our Cypress Sunrise for their Pawleys Island vacation retreat!
